GCSE English: One year

Entry to this course requires GCSE English Language or Literature at a grade 2 or E. If you do not have these qualifications you will be considered for the course if you reach the required standard on our initial English assessment. It is a national requirement for all students aged 16-18 studying an educational course to continue to study Maths and/or English if a GCSE Grade 4 (A*-C) has not already been achieved, you do not need to apply separately for this as it will be included in your main programme of study.If you are 16 to 18 years old you won’t have to pay tuition fees. If you’re 19 or older you may need to pay a fee. 

You will sit the following assessments:

• Four controlled assessments for reading and writing
• Three spelling and listening assessments
• Two one-hour written examinations in June.
